My Real Estate Career Began In 1980 Right After Business School. Inner City Redevelopment Of Condominiums Were Just Starting At That Time. Many Midrise Condominium Buildings Were Being Built In The Beltline.
This Was Also The Beginning Of Infill Two Storey Home And Townhome Redevelopment On Subdivided Inner City Lots All Around In The Inner City Areas.
After Specializing In And Working With Several Infill And Townhome Developers In The 1980’s And 1990’s, I Changed My Focus To The Beltline And Downtown Area Condominium Market In 2000.
First It Was The Historical Loft Buildings : Lewis Lofts, Manhattan Lofts, Hudson Lofts, And The Imperial Lofts. There Had Been Many Low Rise Condominiums Being Built In The Beltline And All Around The Inner City Areas In The 1990’s.
The First High Rise Condominium Buildings Started In 1999 In The Downtown West End And Eau Clair Areas. In The Beltline The First High Rise Condominium Was Emerald Stone In 2004.
Until Then There Had Been Just 5 Condominium High Rises Built In The 1980 Era. These Were : Eau Claire Estates In Eau Claire, Westmount Place In Downtown West End, The Estate In Beltline, And Roxboro House And Riverstone In Mission.
Since 1999 There Have Been Over 60 High Rise Condominium Buildings Built In The Beltline And Downtown Areas. Since 2014 There Have Been Over 30 Purpose Built Rental High Rise Buildings Built In The Beltline And Downtown Areas. And There Are Many More Condominium And Rental High Rise Buildings In The Development Permit And Planning Stages.
The City Of Calgary Is Making The Way For Many Of The Older Office Buildings To Be Converted To Residential Rental Buildings. This Will Add More People And More Amenities To The Downtown Areas Creating A More Vibrant Downtown.
